Day 3: Windies 195/3 at stumps, trail by 283

Kolkata, Nov 16: Despite being bowled out for 153 runs in the first innings, Windies came back strongly during their second innings with good partnerships from Adrain Barath (62) and Kirk Edwards (60), Darren Bravo and Shivnarine Chanderpaul are currently not out as Windies managed to score 195/3 at End of Day 3 in the second Test match played at the Eden Gardens

West Indies still needed 283 to make India bat again with two days remaining in the match. India will look to win the match tomorrow as Windies have seven wickets remaining.

Adrian Barath and Kirk Edwards batted positively adding a partnership of 93 runs for the second wicket. Ishant Sharma struck in the first over after tea when he had Adrian Barath caught by VVS Laxman at first slip on the third day of the second Test. Ishant Sharma trapped Kirk Edwards leg before to end the batsman's fine innings for West Indies

Earlier Indian captain MS Dhoni enforced the follow-on as Windies were bowled out for 153 in their first innings. Adrain Batath and Kirk Edwards steady the Windies innings after a poor start. Umesh Yadav struck early as Kraig Brathwaite gets an edge trying to play a ball outside the off stump with MS Dhoni taking a good low catch.

West Indies were bowled out for 153 on Day 3 of the second test played at Eden Gardens in Kokata. Windies trailed by 478 runs. West Indies lost six wickets with less than 100 runs on the board. Pragyan Ojha took four wickets while Umesh Yadav struck thrice.

India began Day 3 with a lead of 597 runs while Windies lost both their openers with a score of 34/2.

Ohja struck early claiming his 50th wicket in Test cricket trapping Kirk Edwards (16) lbw. Umpire made no mistake as the ball was hitting middle and leg. R Ashwin claimed the most important wicket trapping Shivnarine Chanderpaul (4) lbw. Chanderpaul playing across the line missed the straight ball completely and was hit right in front.
